You’ll often spot these grand, stucco-covered homes with tile roofs in places like Miami, Los Angeles, and Riverside, CA. They boast spacious floorplans, elegant detailing, and lush landscaping—fitting, since their median price sits at a steep $725,000, the highest among all styles studied.
However, despite their size and beauty, price growth has stalled, staying flat over the past year—likely because buyers are becoming more cautious about high-end purchases in today's market.
These classic, single-story homes are especially popular in the South and Midwest, offering a more relaxed, laid-back vibe. With a median list price of $369,000, Ranch homes are among the most budget-friendly options out there. Their straightforward layout makes them a smart choice for first-time buyers, downsizers, or anyone who prefers fewer stairs and an easy flow.
Interestingly, some of the largest home styles—including English-inspired designs like Tudors and Victorians—aren’t seeing the same price growth. These homes may offer tons of space (English homes average around 2,700 sq. ft.) and character, but many were built nearly a century ago and may require updates that today’s buyers aren’t eager to tackle.
These three architectural styles have appreciated more than 43% since 2019, showing strong and steady demand over time. Buyers seem to love their mix of simplicity, charm, and modern functionality.
