Downtown Sarasota is preparing to welcome one of Florida's most exclusive private dining clubs this fall as 1000 North opens its second location. The members only club, co founded by basketball icon Michael Jordan and an impressive group of sports, business, and media leaders, is making its first expansion outside of Jupiter after overwhelming demand from prospective members.
Since opening in Jupiter, 1000 North has become known as one of South Florida's premier private clubs. Located along the Intracoastal Waterway, the original club offers upscale waterfront dining, exceptional service, and an exclusive atmosphere that has attracted athletes, celebrities, and business executives from around the country.
Jordan is one of the club's founding partners alongside former Tucker Frederickson, real estate developer Ira Fenton, golf stars Ernie Els, Dustin Johnson, Rickie Fowler, Keegan Bradley, Justin Thomas, tennis champion Serena Williams, broadcaster Ahmad Rashad, television personality Bryant Gumbel, wine executive Bill Terlato, and Wine Spectator publisher Marvin Shanken.
The new Sarasota club will be located inside the BLVD Sarasota building at 520 North Tamiami Trail in the city's growing waterfront district. The multi level space will feature more than 13,000 square feet with seating for approximately 200 members. Guests can expect a fine dining restaurant, elegant lounges, private dining rooms, wine lockers with personalized sommelier service, and dedicated wine tasting spaces.
Membership will also include luxury amenities designed to elevate the experience beyond traditional private clubs. Members are expected to have access to private limousine transportation, yacht access, and private jet services. Annual membership dues have been set at $6,000, while the initiation fee has not yet been announced.
Every detail of the club has been carefully planned to create an upscale atmosphere. Rich walnut finishes, custom brass wine lockers, premium quartzite surfaces, and sophisticated lighting that changes throughout the day will give the space a refined yet inviting feel. The developers have even noted that more than two miles of walnut wood have been incorporated throughout the interior.
The Sarasota location is being developed by local developer Kevin Daves in partnership with the Jupiter ownership group. Daves has played a role in several well known luxury developments throughout the region, including The Ritz Carlton Sarasota and The Concession Golf Club. The project is expected to create nearly 40 new jobs while emphasizing local hiring and regional vendors.
Interest in the Sarasota club has been exceptionally strong. Even before construction was completed, demand for memberships exceeded expectations, prompting the ownership team to place an adjacent property under contract for future expansion. Plans for the additional space are still being evaluated, but the move reflects the excitement surrounding the club's arrival.
For Michael Jordan, the Sarasota expansion adds another chapter to his growing presence in Florida. In addition to co owning 1000 North, he lives at Bear's Club in Jupiter and owns the exclusive Grove XXIII golf club, creating a collection of luxury lifestyle investments that extend well beyond his legendary basketball career.
As Sarasota continues to attract luxury developments, upscale restaurants, and high end residential communities, the arrival of 1000 North further highlights the city's growing reputation as one of Florida's premier destinations for luxury living. With its anticipated opening this fall, the exclusive club is expected to become one of the area's most sought after private dining experiences.
